LAS VEGAS (AP) — The nonprofit Nevada News Bureau has announced it will suspend operations after it fell short of its fundraising goals.
Editor/Publisher Elizabeth Crum says the last day for the non-partisan, politically focused online news source will be Friday.
The news bureau launched in 2009 and offered free coverage of Nevada government and politics that other outlets could reprint. Crum says the site has had more than 330,000 visitors since its launch, and has nearly 20,000 regular readers.
Crum says Monday the bureau will continue to register with the Nevada Secretary of State as a non-profit organization. She says the news source's board is open to restarting operations in the future if more funding comes in.
