FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a woman who was struck by a car in Fernley.

The patrol has not released the name of the pedestrian who was killed shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Farm District Road and Jennys Lane.

Trooper Dave Gibson says the initial investigation indicates she was in a marked crosswalk.

Gibson says the driver of the car is cooperating with authorities. No charges have been filed, but an investigation continues.

Nv4,it's OK to use 'NHP', thus no confusion with Civil Air Patrol, and still room for typesetting flubs. OK?
