SPARKS, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Plans for the proposed Walmart at the Outlets at Sparks are moving forward after citizen complaints were rejected.

The Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Governing Board said this was the final government review of the project at a meeting Thursday. There were two protests against the approval of the Walmart, but no one showed up for public comment.

A Walmart spokeswoman has said the store will bring jobs and economic benefits to Sparks, and is scheduled to open in mid-2015.

speaking of 'green light', who's the clown who designed the awkward and insufficient ramps and lanes for this area? Worse than the Coliseum (which is in a tight urban area).

whatever happened to the concept of a 'destination' mall and all the special tax treatment? WalMart can go anywhere, and also leave anywhere. There is an IMAX in Sacramento, right downtown (light rail access). Popeye's? Lowe's? not exactly "high end".
