FALLON, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A stand-off at the Motel 6 has ended with no injuries. Fallon Police have taken 62-year-old Mark Carmi Hanawalt into custody.

On Monday afternoon, police responded for a welfare check on a subject in a motel room who was complaining of hearing voices outside his room and wanting the people to leave. Upon arriving, officers saw a pellet handgun on the ground outside the motel room.

Hanawalt was uncooperative with the officers. He displayed lighter fluid and a lighter, threw items out of the window, and was armed with a knife and multiple guns. After an extended period of time, he was taken into custody without anyone being injured.

Hanawalt has been residing in Fallon for approximately 3 months, after moving here from Lyon County. He was transported to the Banner Churchill Community Hospital for mental evaluation. Hanawalt has a prior history of mental illness and he has a prior arrest record for which include offenses of battery, resisting arrest and injury property.

Criminal charges may be filed in the future for Injury to Property, Assault with Deadly Weapon and Resisting Arrest.
