Sparks, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Police believe that a shooting that took place early the morning of Saturday, December 29th may be gang related.

According to a Sparks Police report, officers were called to the 1100 block of 15th Street after reports of shots fired in that area.
Officers found one victim who had been shot, a 28 year old Reno resident. According to that victim's report, he had been walking with friends in the area when they were passed by a light colored car. The passengers of that car yelled something from the window at the victim, turned the car around and came back. The victim then approached the car and talked with the driver of the vehicle. At some point, the car's driver pulled out a handgun and shot the victim, hitting him in the hand. The car then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Renown Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect in this case is described as a Hispanic man between 18-24 years old. The car's passenger is described as a Hispanic woman between 18-20 years old. The car is reportedly a light colored, two door, possibly a Chevy Cavalier or similar model car.

Police say there is a possibility of gang-related involvement in this case, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Police are asking that anyone with additional information on the shooting contact Secret Witness at 322-4900.
