CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Although there was a small turnout in Carson City, several people voiced their opinions on the driver authorization cards available for those in the country illegally starting next year.

One opinion several shared was the look of the authorization cards, because there will be differences from the Nevada driver's license. Some felt it could be used as to discriminate against the card holders.

Though that wasn't one of the regulations on the agenda, they felt they wanted that point made for the record.

For the regulations that were proposed, like the documentation they'll accept during the application process, and the changes to the translation requirements, it brought mixed feelings.

Officials from the DMV say it's important to hear every concern.

Reason; I like the way you see this, but I'll be very surprised if this program goes any farther than the "give them a driving permit" part. Typically the follow-through is where these deals disintegrate. We also need to consider these newly official drivers will be swarming in from surrounding States with faked papers to participate, then going "home" to wherever they really live. I hope to God your view is correct, and I'll bow at your feet if you're proven right. I'm just having a rough time being optimistic these days, with the track record I've been seeing.

Please fear not, as everyone knows they will purchase insurance for one month and then let it go by not paying a dime more. But look on the good side and I speak from inside knowledge, they will all be registered and most easily found, rounded up and deported. Right now, how can you tell without asking if they have a right to be and papers to prove they are here legally... Fellow True Americans, they are walking right into a trap all by them selves and by their own admission. No more profiling complaints. Can you see what a wonderful situation they will be putting themselves into. Let them register and get their deport guarantee. Pass on the good news and quit stressing over the problem of illegals, they are going to help our government with this problem all by themselves.

jeanniebobb; Because giving them "drivers licenses" is officially endorsing Felonious behavior. Instead of giving them the Government's BLESSINGS,the Cops SHOULD be arresting and DEPORTING them when they go to DMV to get their "get out of jail free cards". Or maybe EVERYONE who commits a Felony should just skate the charge. Coming into the US ILLEGALLY is against the law for a REASON.

Time Out; you're exactly right-these people start their "new lives" by committing a FELONY,and this administration punishes their criminal activity by giving them a drivers license (I KNOW-"there are differences",but it authorizes them to DRIVE,hence-drivers license). Is it any WONDER America's youth so ofter can't tell the difference between RIGHT and WRONG anymore? How much of the "non-Democratic" population is in favor of further blurring the line between RIGHT AND WRONG?

I'd like to know why I have to provide a mountain of ID to get a driver's license and people getting these cards do not. Will they also have to provide proof of insurance? Is the 'yearly' fee the same as a regular licensed person? How will one DMV in Reno deal with all these extra applicants at the office when it takes almost 3 hours now to get service?

They break our laws regarding entry to our country and now you want to give them drivers licenses. You think they will obey our driving laws any better. Any card they do get should be bright red; us legal citizens deserve to know who the illegal alien lawbreakers are.
