STATELINE, Nev. ( & KRNV) – Nevada Highway Patrol respond to a crash involving a pedestrian who was struck by an automobile on eastbound US 50 near Lake Parkway in Douglas County on Saturday morning around 3 a.m.

The 31-year-old Carson City man was walking on the road just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa when he was hit. Troopers say it is possible the man may have been struck by more than one vehicle.

One witness who stopped to help told troopers that he was driving west when he observed a person lying in one of the eastbound travel lanes. When he turned his vehicle around to help, he saw a full size blue Dodge pickup strike the downed pedestrian.

The pedestrian was initially transported from the scene by ground ambulance and taken to Barton Memorial Hospital before being flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Cal Star. The patient is in critical condition and NHP is trying to contact family members before releasing his name.

The Nevada Highway Patrol would like anyone who witnessed this crash or who may have more information about this incident to please contact the agency.

Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Major Accident Investigation Team is the primary investigator for this crash. He can be reached at (775) 689-4623 or regarding case number NHP-130800861.

Witnesses can also contact the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at (775) 687-0400.
