RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The pedestrian who was hit while running on Interstate 80 Oct. 29 has been identified as Stephen Guillot, 29.
NHP says the driver was traveling eastbound on I-80 near the Rock Blvd/Nugget Ave. exit when the pedestrian ran southbound on I-80. Guillot was hit by the driver and ultimately died as a result of his injuries.
The Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was requested to handle the investigation as the driver of the vehicle was an off-duty NHP employee. Preliminary investigation indicates neither speed nor alcohol were a factor in this accident.
