RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- New information regarding the dismissal of Superintendent Pedro Martinez shows the Washoe County School District did not give Martinez verbal or written notice of his paid leave.
News 4 requested a copy of the alleged memo given to Martinez, and the School District responded saying "There is no such memo."
Martinez said he was not given verbal or written notice indicating he is on paid leave -- the only time he has heard of this status has been through the media. According to Martinez, Board of Trustees President Barbara Clark said the board was done with him, and his contract has come to an end.
Last Friday, Clark released a memo stating Martinez was on administrative leave with pay, and that this has been his status since Tuesday, July 22nd. This memo came three days after Clark said Martinez was relieved of his duties.
