LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A Lancair 360 plane crashed yesterday flying from Uklah, California to Tahoe, according to Calusa County Sheriff's Office.
There was light smoke in the cockpit, so they started to descend. The smoke got heavier and a small fire broke out forcing the plane to crash near an almond orchard west of Williams, according to the Sheriff's Office.
One man was airlifted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with major injuries. The other man taken by ground ambulance to Colusa Regional Medical Center, but was expected to be airlifted to an area hospital.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified.
The plane was destroyed by the fire.
