LAS VEGAS (AP) — One tourist says an early morning car-to-car shooting on the Las Vegas Strip looked like something out of a Die Hard movie.
Police say someone in a black Range Rover opened fire on a Maserati, sending it crashing into a taxi that burst into flames, leaving three people dead and at least six injured.
Las Vegas Police Sgt. John Sheahan said they have numerous witnesses to the attack, but do not know how it started.
Police have video from traffic cameras at the intersection and are checking hotel surveillance systems. They are also investigating altercation earlier at an unspecified casino resort.
Witnesses told police the SUV and Maserati had come from the nearby CityCenter area.
Police in three states are looking for the SUV that fled the scene at about 4:20 a.m.
