Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Reno Police have issued 7 citations to establishments caught serving alcohol to minors during the 2012 Santa Crawl.
On December 15th, detectives with the Street Enforcement Team and the University of Nevada Police Department launched an undercover operation targetting bars and casinos that sell alcohol to minors.
According to police reports on the operation, detectives sent underaged decoys into bars and casinos, who would then attempt to buy alcoholic drinks. Throughout the night, 55 bars and casinos were checked, and 7 citations were issued.
Police report that the following bars were cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor:
- Reno Pizza at 26 W. 2nd Street
- Five Star at 132 West Street
- Studio on 4th at 432 E. 4th Street
- The Cal Neva at 38 E. 2nd Street
- El Cortez at 235 W. 2nd Street
- and Circus Circus at 500 N. Sierra Street
Studio on 4th was cited a second time after the doorman allowed a minor into the bar.
According to police, the remaning 91% of bars and casinos tested passed and did not serve alcohol to the undercover minors.
