RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Community Outreach Founder, Evelyn Mount, says thieves stole dozens of turkeys and Cornish game hens from her home over the weekend.

The missing poultry was discovered Monday.

News 4 has confirmed with Reno Police Lt. William Rulla that Mount did file a police report Monday, stating several items were taken from one of her freezers in the garage.

Mount tells News 4 there was no sign of a break in and nothing was taken from inside her home. She says it appears the burglary happened when a door was unlocked or the garage was open while she was away at church.

Mount says the incident is discouraging, especially so close to Thanksgiving.

Evelyn Mount has been helping needy families in our community for several years, by providing them with all the fixings for a holiday meal. Now, more than ever, Mount is seeking the community's donations.

If you'd like to help, donations can be dropped off at Evelyn Mount's home at 2530 Cannan St. in Reno.

If all of us pitch in and give a Thanksgiving dinner to a family that is in need, that is what America is all about. Step up people. Share. Care.

What do you expect? They are thief's. Some do what they have to to survive. Others will take your home or whatever to benefit and steal from you as much as possible. Most thief's are just dirt ball scum-bags that only care about themselves. I hope people help out with this drive, and bring happiness to so many homes that have little to nothing most of the year.
