RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Community Outreach Founder, Evelyn Mount, says thieves stole dozens of turkeys and Cornish game hens from her home over the weekend.
The missing poultry was discovered Monday.
News 4 has confirmed with Reno Police Lt. William Rulla that Mount did file a police report Monday, stating several items were taken from one of her freezers in the garage.
Mount tells News 4 there was no sign of a break in and nothing was taken from inside her home. She says it appears the burglary happened when a door was unlocked or the garage was open while she was away at church.
Mount says the incident is discouraging, especially so close to Thanksgiving.
Evelyn Mount has been helping needy families in our community for several years, by providing them with all the fixings for a holiday meal. Now, more than ever, Mount is seeking the community's donations.
