SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- According to a press release from the Reno Police Department, a man is in custody as the suspect in a stabbing and sexual assault incident in a Reno motel.

On September 3, 2014  at approximately 4:37 p.m., RPD officers responded to a Reno motel located at 1435 E. 4th St. on a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, an officer found a male and a female, who had both sustained stab wounds. The two were transported to Renown where they underwent treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

As the investigation continued it was determined that the male had sexually assaulted the female victim at knifepoint and prevented her from leaving the room. A struggle ensued resulting in both people being injured by the knife and the police being called by neighbors.

The male -- 41-year-old Donald Earl Schmitz -- was arrested and booked for False Imprisonment, Battery w/a Deadly Weapon and Sexual Assault.

This human waste should get NO bail! Hold him until he's found guilty because it sure sounds like he is. Then life in prison. Protect our women and children from this freak! Once a rapist, always a rapist. No cure for them. Lock them away for good!! Can't help but wonder how many other women he's done this too and were too afraid to report it.
