Reno man appears in court for investment fraud

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A Reno financial advisor was in court today.

Gary Lane appeared due to investment fraud charges after being charged with 12 counts of mail fraud and five counts of attempt to evade or defeat taxes.

He's alleged to have defrauded six people of more than $2 million while working at Bank of America.

He also allegedly filed false tax returns.

If convicted, Lane faces up to 20 years in prison for each mail fraud count, five years for each tax count and over $250,000 in fines.
