Reno, NV (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A Reno native has been named "Nevada's Hottest Bachelor 2011" by Cosmopolitan Magazine.
24 year old Hunter Smit is featured in the November issue of the women's magazine along with 50 other bachelors from across the U.S.
Smit is a graduate of Wooster High School in Reno and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He commutes to southern California where he's pursuing a career in acting and modeling.
Smit's mom Donna says, she always knew her son had a bright future. He was Wooster's student body president, an avid athelete, and even the school's mascot.
"He was the mascot that walked around in the big horse outfit and he was just an entertainer," said Donna Smit.
Cosmopolitan is conducting an online contest to see which of the 51 bachelors gets the most votes. One of the top ten vote getters will be chosen by Cosmo editors to win $10,000 and a feature on the December cover of the magazine.
