SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- People with developmental disabilities and their families are invited to attend a Disability Awareness and Resource Fair on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Sparks Middle School.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sparks Middle School, in partnership with the Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities (NGCDD), will host the event.
This is an opportunity for community members to connect with local organizations committed to serving and supporting people with disabilities. Guest speakers from Silver State Housing Council, Family Ties of Nevada, and the University of Nevada, Reno will be sharing information on a variety of topics. Representatives from Camp Lotsafun, Deaf & Hard of Hearing Advocacy Resource Center, and Nevada Dual Sensory Impairment Project will also be in attendance. The event will include workshops, speakers, resource tables, snacks, childcare, and free flu shots for all attendees. Spanish translation services will also be available.
