(MyNews4.com & KRNV) – The Rim  Wildfire that began three weeks ago today is now 80 percent contained and is the third largest fire in California's history.

The fire has scorched 252,000 acres and full containment is expected by Friday, September 20th.

More than 3,400 people have helped fight the blaze and officials say a shift in wind direction could help clear out the smoke on Monday.

Currently, the air quality in the Tahoe Meadows is in a good range.
