Roads reopened following crash on Kingsbury Grade

MINDEN, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- NHP Trooper Dave Gibson has told News 4 that Kingsbury Grade has now re-opened following a collision today that resulted in road closure for multiple hours.

Gibson says the crash occurred when one of the vehicles crossed the double-yellow line and hit another vehicle head on. One of the vehicles caught fire following the collision.

Both parties were transported to the hospital via helicopter and the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

MINDEN, Nev. -- The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and East Fork Fire and Paramedics are responding to a motor vehicle crash on the Kingsbury Grade halfway way down the Valley Side.

According to NHP Trooper Chuck Allen, the incident occurred between mile marker 8 and 9. One of the vehicles is on fire and two Care Flight helicopters are in route, but the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

Residents and commuters are being asked to use an alternate route at this time.
