According to a press release from the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP), 79 year-old Gloria Melms of Reno was driving her green 1999 Toyota 4-Runner SUV, when she drifted off the left roadway edge of the freeway ramp, where it struck a small road marker post. Melms' over-corrected her vehicle's steering to the right causing the SUV to travel back across the ramp lane and depart the right roadway edge when it rolled over. Her vehicle came to rest on its roof or on top and no other vehicles were involved.
NHP say that Melms was extricated from her vehicle by Reno Fire Department personnel and was transported by REMSA to Renown for minor injuries. She was also issued a citation for not using due care while operating a vehicle

According to NHP Trooper Chuck Allen, around 8:40 a.m. this morning, a 79 year-old woman was driving a green Toyota 4-Runner and as she was driving onto the on-ramp from I-580 to Eastbound I-80, she drifted to the side. When she went to correct her turn, she ended up rolling over her vehicle.
Reno Fire crews and REMSA were on scene to extricate the woman from the vehicle. She was then transported by REMSA to Renown for minor injuries.
The I-580 Northbound ramp heading to Eastbound I-80 was closed for about 25 minutes while firetrucks and ambulance were on scene, according to Allen.
RENO, NV. (KRNV & MyNew4.com) –Nevada Highway Patrol is on the scene of a single-vehicle rollover accident on I-80 Eastbound at the Spaghetti Bowl this morning.
NHP says that Troopers just arrived on scene and that the accident is slowing traffic down heading eastbound. It's unknown how many occupants are in the vehicle and what the injuries are.
News 4 has a crew heading to the scene and will have more as it develops.
