LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- For the second time this year, the animal rights group SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness) is accusing people who work Nevada rodeos of shocking horses.
The latest accusations come out of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
You may remember the video SHARK released following the Reno Rodeo. The group accused men surrounding the shoots of using a glove with a shocker in it to force horses to buck.
This time around, the video that SHARK says is coming from the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas appears to be much more blatant.
This video provided by SHARK, which can be found
here, appears to show horses in the saddle bronc competition being shocked.
If you follow the red circle in each video clip, you can see what appears to be electric prod being used to force the animals to buck.
Shocking horses is against the PRCA's rules. Except in the case of known chute stallers, using prods to make the horses buck is against PRCA rules.
SHARK's president calls the practice of shocking horses cruel, and is asking the PRCA to take action.
News 4 has reached out to the PRCA to get a response on this latest video. So far, we haven't received a response.
