INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A man who drowned near the Sand Harbor boat ramp last week has been identified.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, the Medical Examiner's office has identified the man as 40-year-old Carl Strickland of Incline Village. On August 22, deputies responded to Sand Harbor on a report of a body in the water. Upon arrival, deputies learned that students in a paddleboarding class saw what appeared to be a body under the water near the docks. The instructor responded and saw what he described as a white male tangled in some ropes affixed to a boat.
The victim was pulled to the surface where he was pronounced deceased by emergency medical responders. The investigation has found evidence that indicates the man had been working on the boat and appears to have entered the water on his own volition. Although the circumstances of the death are still under investigation, there does not appear to be foul play related to the man’s death at this time.
