RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- School Board of Trustees member Howard Rosenberg says if a recall happens, it is what it is.

In an upcoming episode of Nevada NewsMakers, Rosenberg says, as an elected official, anything can happen. "This is one of those things that I cannot do anything about. If the people who elected me want to recall me, than that is their right."

Latino Leaders roundtable officials are leading recall efforts against Rosenberg and Washoe County School District board member Lisa Ruggerio after Superintendent Pedro Martinez was relieved of his duties on July 22.

The group has also targeted Dave Aiazzi, who announced his resignation this week. The former Reno City Council member said he has been diagnosed with Leukemia and will step down.

Last week, Board President Barbara Clark pulled the proposed August 15 meeting to discuss Martinez’s contract.

"If I say the wrong thing or is I say anything at all, the backlash goes onto the district and I am not going to put our kids and I am not going to put our faculty in that kind of a situation," says Rosenberg.
