UPDATE: The roads are all cleared, according to NHP. The Jetta was driven by 32-year-old Rosana Chavez of Reno. She was given a citation for failure to maintain her travel lane.

NHP says the Washoe County School Bus was transporting the juvenile to Matthews Elementary as part of the Early Learning Pre-K Program. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

UPDATE: NHP says a Washoe County District School bus was traveling Northbound on 395 in the slow lane past Golden Valley road, when a Volkswagen Jetta, traveling in the fast lane tried to get into the slow lane and hit the back end of the bus, causing the bus to roll over several times. '

There were two occupants on the bus, a 64-year-old male driver and a three-year-old female, who were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the 2003 Jetta is at fault, but the crash is still under investigation. The school bus was driving the proper speed of 55 MPH.

NHP advises 395 Northbound from Golden Valley to Lemmon will be closed for the next couple of hours while the investigation is going on. Drivers travelling northbound in that area will notice that it will go down to one lane at the Golden Valley exit before drivers will be forced off at the Lemmon exit. Drivers can get back onto 395 Northbound from the Lemmon on-ramp.

UPDATE: Two people were transported from school bus with non-life threatening injuries.

Emergency crews on the scene tell News 4 it appears a Volkswagen Jetta caused crash, but the investigation is still on-going.

The crash was not weather-related.

I was behind her as her right rear tire went flat and she tried to maintain but swerved unable to maintain her vehicle thus hitting the bus. We filled out a report with the nhp stating this.
