Several small fires contained in Douglas County

UPDATE - 5:25PM - The fires have been contained.




UPDATE - 5:00PM - Listed below are the current locations where fire personnel are currently working fires in Douglas County, according to Sgt. Brooks:

#1 Hwy 395 and Leviathan Mine Road: The fire is on the east side of Hwy 395 near Spring Valley Drive. The fire has been contained to two or three trees.

#2 Pinenut Road near Sierra Spirit Ranch: Two fires have been reported in the area. The first fire is east of Lena Road and, the second is on Mt. Segal. These fires are in heavy fuel as well however, are calming down due to the current rain fall.

#3 Sunrise Pass Road: there are three fires have been reported in this area and the fires are in heavy fuel, however the fire is calming down due to the current rain fall and fire crews on scene.

No structures are threatened at this time and no injuries have been reported.





UPDATE - 4:28PM - Sgt. Brooks is reporting additional fire resources have been called from various agencies, Carson, BLM, Antelope Valley, NDF and Mono County. The listed locations are currently being investigated for small brush fires except otherwise noted. .

#1 Highway 395 and Leviathan Mine Road.

#2 East Valley Road and Fish Springs, small brush fire

#3 Pinenut Road near Sierra Spirit Ranch

#4 Sunrise Pass Road.

These fires are believed to be lighting-caused, and at this time there are no structures in immediate danger.





DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Several small fires are burning the Pinenut area of Douglas County, according to Sgt. Pat Brooks with Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
