Sinkhole Near I-80 on Donner Gate Road in Truckee Causes Lane Closures

UPDATE - 6:06PM - According to CalTrans, I-80E is down to one lane, but I-80W is back open.



UPDATE - 12:34PM - The interstate is expected to be fully reopened by 6pm, according to CHP.



UPDATE - 10:34AM - California Highway Patrol says I-80 has one lane open in each direction, making for slow going traffic. There is no estimate when all lanes will be back open.

Truckee, Cal. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – This just into the newsroom, a sinkhole near Interstate 80 on Donner Pass Road causes some lane closures in Truckee.

According to the California Highway Patrol the sinkhole was discovered around 12:45 this morning in a construction zone and is about three feet wide and eight feet deep.

Troopers say both East and West bound left lanes on I-80 near Donner Pass Road in Truckee are closed.

At this time it is unknown when those lanes will be open but troopers a stream runs underneath the road which might have caused the sinkhole.

it appears thius "report" onfuses Donner Pass Rd. and GatewayBlvd., these are on either side of the extensive, upgraded interchange along I-80. No wonder Nv4 missed it: California actually PLANS it's transportation

So, I'm searching for a MAP of this location, because of all the clue-lessness, & I find: the Hole in the Ground Mountain Bike Trail, in Truckee CA. sha-zam! what will the genius internet do 4 us next?

this just in: Nv4 has a clueless "newsroom" writer/editor. Y can't U consistently describe the location, even within the same 'report'? Donner Pass Road seems OK, could U verify? like, It's Your Job! Re: CHP -In California, they aren't called "troopers".
