ROSA KHUTOR, Russia (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- It's a gold medal for David Wise. The Reno resident won the Ski Halfpipe event at the Sochi Olympics on Tuesday.

Wise posted a 92.00 score in his first run, and it was good enough to hold off all other competitors. Canada's Mike Riddle posted a 90.60 in the second run, the highest score of the round, and he earned the silver medal.

France's Kevin Rolland took the bronze with an 88.60 on his first run.

The event was contested through snow that only got heavier as the competition progressed. The halfpipe had been hit with wet, soggy rain and snow all night.
