ALIPINE MEADOWS, CAL. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - An Alpine Meadows employee died Tuesday night after a skiing accident on Saturday. Alpine Meadows released the following statement to News 4:

"We are extremely saddened by the loss of a valued member of the Alpine Meadows team. Annalise Kjolhede passed away Tues. night (Tues., Nov. 14) after suffering a serious accident while skiing at Alpine Meadows last Saturday (Alpine Meadows was not officially open; scheduled opening day is not until Dec. 7.).

Annalise was wearing a helmet but she did sustain injuries to her head and neck. Alpine Meadows Ski Patrol, in conjunction with North Lake Tahoe Fire Department, was conducting pre-season training at the resort on Saturday when they received the 911 call reporting the accident. Ski Patrol mobilized a snowcat and was on scene in 25 minutes. Annalise was transported to the base area where she was then transported to Renown Health via Careflight.

Though she was part of our team but one season, Annalise was a valued member of Alpine Meadows’ Kids Ski School. Her outgoing personality, passion for working with kids and friendly nature will be remembered and missed by all of her friends and colleagues here at Squaw and Alpine. Her passing is a tragic loss for our team and community."
