There's a very good chance that there's a lot more to this story ... like a scenario such as: the girl may have been impaired by alcohol or something else (drugs) & perhaps some guy or guys tried to pick her up and she having diminished judgement agreed to "get a lift" from him/them ... and it may have turned into a sexual confrontation, which she refused to cooperate with and the agressor/s made her get out of a vehicle to walk to her destination & didn't know the area. I mean, I'm sure other people smarter and more informed of these kinds of situations than me, would consider that kind of incident. I don't know a thing and stayed home NYE, but I watch plenty of crime shows on TV . Just because it's Tahoe and a music festival does NOT mean that predators out there would not be in the crowd. All I can say is that when I was young, one of the number one rules was that there is safety in numbers ... and when you go to somewhere unfamiliar to you, you should stay w/ your friends ... NO MATTER WHAT!!
