MINDEN, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – A California man has died after a snowboarding incident at Heavenly Ski Resort. Wyatt James Colvard, 18, from Fountain Valley, California succumbed to internal injuries.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, paramedics responded to a call of an injured snowboarder at Heavenly Ski Resort, Boulder Lodge at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, Tahoe Douglas Paramedics began advanced life support on Colvard.
Witnesses stated they found Wyatt lying in the snow unconscious, and he was having a difficult time breathing. Ski patrol arrived and transported Wyatt down the hill to awaiting paramedics, where he succumbed to his injuries.
An autopsy was completed and the preliminary findings showed that Wyatt died due to internal injuries from blunt force trauma.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
