SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – The Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating the suspicious death of a flock of blackbirds in the South Lake Tahoe.
According to the Lake Tahoe News, the flock of birds was thinned out after ingesting strychnine. Officers report 34 dead Brewer's Blackbirds were found near the intersection of Lassen Drive and Tuolumne Drive on Jan. 28. Scientists say it is unknown if the poisoning was intentional.
The State Agriculture Commissioner is planning to conduct an investigation to determine who was responsible for the poisoning.
