SPARKS, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - A construction project on the eastern side of the valley closed up an important corridor for nearly a week, as part of the North Truckee Drain Realignment Project, but today, there’s some relief for commuters.
One southbound lane of Greg Street between Interstate 80 and Larkin Circle is now open.
Construction crews had until Sunday to reopen that lane, but beat their deadline.
“They were able to get that done by 6 a.m. this morning, so a day and a half early,” says Utility Manager, Andy Hummel. “They did that basically working as fast as they possibly could. Working efficiently and smart, and getting it done early.”
Both lanes are expected to reopen the first week of June. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes on Sparks Boulevard and South McCarran for the duration of the construction project.
