Sparks Policeman involved in crash on Glendale and McCarran

If this officer was off duty responding, then he should be held accountable for the accident. His intentions to help a fellow officer was commendable, but due to the fact, he acted on his own while off duty, doesn't excuse his causing an accident with bodily harm. Law suit here for sure.

Kind of insensitive that they didn't mention the condition of the driver... even if it was her/his fault...

I was headed west on Glendale and was stopped by the traffic light at the intersection of McCarran and Glendale and witnessed the accident. I was the first vehicle stopped at the light. The police SUV, with full siren and lights, was heading north on McCarran. The siren could be heard well before the police SUV came into view. All lanes of traffic - north, south, east & west - had stopped for the police SUV. The SUV began a turn (in the intersection of Glendale and McCarran) in order to head either west on Glendale or back south on McCarran. A light brown vehicle heading south on McCarran attempted to go through the intersection without yielding to the oncoming police vehicle. The impact of the car (which t-boned the SUV) turned the SUV into a southerly direction. Numerous drivers stopped to give assistance. There appeared to be some concern for the policeman as he did not seem to be moving once the door was open. I could not see anything about the driver of the car which hit the SUV. This appears to me to be an open and shut case of a civilian failing to yield to an emergency vehicle whose siren and lights were activated.
