Study shows U.S. 50 to be hazardous

A Nevada Department of Transportation study says the fatality rate on Highway 50 from Silver Springs to Carson City is higher than the average Nevada road.

Drove this road many times at many different times. A 4 lane complete to Silver Springs along with Frontage Roads will make a big difference. One of the main problems is people turning out from their access roads at 25mph in front of someone doing the speed limit of 65mph. That and some "rock with lips" who only drives 40mph in a 65mph zone. Blocking traffic and usually drunk. This road gets heavy traffic and mainly from government workers driving to and from Carson City. Many leave late then race for that parking spot that is "their" spot.
