Suspicious package found at 7-Eleven in Fernley

UPDATE 1:00PM: Lyon County Deputies say someone left a suspicious box next to the fuel pumps at the 7-Eleven on Main Street around 7:30 a.m. May 12, 2013.

Deputies say the 7- Eleven was evacuated along with surrounding businesses and homes and Main Street was shutdown while the Navy Explosive Ordinance Disposal Detachment from Fallon N.A.S investigated. The bomb squad determined the box did not contain explosive or hazardous materials.

It's unknown at this time who left the box and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 11:12AM: News 4 crew members on scene say Main Street has been reopened. 7-Eleven is still closed, but all surrounding streets and businesses are open.

Still no word yet on what exactly was in the package.
Fernley, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Lyon County Deputies tell News 4 they are on scene at the 7-Eleven in Fernley after reports of a suspicious package on May 12, 2013.

Deputies say they are on scene with the Bomb Squad.

Main Street as well as the surrounding areas have been shut down to traffic.

News 4 has a crew on the way to the scene.
