Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A temporary casino operation will be open in downtown Reno for just eight hours this December to keep a new gaming license active.

Jeff Siri, President of Club Cal Neva will be opening Siri's Casino at 241 N. Virginia St. sometime in December 2013. The eight hour venture with 16 slot machines is required by Nevada gaming law to keep the gaming license active at the property before Siri shuts down for an entire remodel.

Today, November 6, 2013, the Nevada Gaming Control Board approved the 16 slot operation. In January, Siri will work to get approval for 150 slots for when the casino officially opens.

The new casino is set to open in April of 2014 and will feature 150 slot machines, a bar and a food selection.

Siri's Casino will be located in what used to be Club Primadonna in the 1950's, sitting right between The Nugget and Whitney Peak.

Siri says while it's a great business opportunity for him, it will also benefit all the casino's around his new property, "The more activity, brings more people to Reno and more activity is good for the economy."

The date and time for the eight hour operation has not been set at this time.
