Transplant Delayed for Local Teen due to the Government Shutdown

PUBLISHED 10/10/13 -- 17-year-old Austin Trowbridge suffers from a rare genetic disorder which the NIH was trying to treat through a bone marrow transplant; due to the government shutdown, his treatment has been delayed until the government re-opens.  The same disorder is responsible for the death of his 15-year-old brother, Eric, five years ago.
