UPDATE: DAYTON, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office told News 4 the identity of the man who crashed the plane yesterday near Dayton, Nevada.

Steven Murphree -- a 45-year-old Dayton resident -- was not the owner of the plane, but apparently flew the plane on a regular basis and was noted as being very familiar with it. The owner of the plane is handicapped and unable to fly the plane. According to Lyon County Sheriff's Lieutenant Rob Hall, the plane took a nose-dive into the ground.
