RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Primary Election takes place in Nevada on Tuesday. News 4 has some tips for making it go as smoothly as possible.

Unlike voting early, voters who want to cast their ballot in the Primary must vote at their designated poll. The location can be found on the back of your sample ballot. pr by visiting the Washoe County Voter Registrar's page and entering your last name and birthdate below the American flag.

The page will provide you with a map to show you how to get to your polling place, and will also provide you with your sample ballot information, so you can review the ballot prior to voting.

Election officials said the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., but if you are in a rush, it might be not be a bad idea to wait. "I would definitely steer clear of the 7-o-clock hour in the morning if that's possible," Washoe County Registrar Luanne Cutler said. "But obviously, if that's the only time you can go, we want you to go."

Poll workers said the mid-morning or mid-afternoon hours are usually the least busiest times, which means the shortest wait times. The activity at the polls can also pick up after work.

They are not expecting long lines on Tuesday, since voter turnout has been very light in early voting. However, they are hoping there could be a surge.
