RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff's deputies have captured an escape inmate south of Reno.

Deputy Armando Avina says 33-year-old Williamson Lowery walked away unnoticed from a work detail job near Davis Creek Park about 9 a.m. Thursday.

He turned his orange inmate suit inside out and wandered through a residential area for about an hour before authorities apprehended him in Washoe Valley.

Avina told the Reno Gazette-Journal inmates on the work crews collect trash and pull weeds under the direction of a park ranger. He says they are carefully screened and must not have any history of violence.

Lowery originally was arrested by Reno police March 2 on an open container charge. Avina says he may face an additional felony escape charge and he won't be allowed on any work crews.

oh yes, good old "tough on crime" Nevada give some idiot a felony charge who got caught with an open container a felony and walked away from a work crew. He must be public enemy #1. Nevada just can't figure out enough ways to put people in prison- what a miserable state this is.

1) escape(d)inmate, not the keypad stroke 2) work detail, not "job" 3) maybe he likes the food. I question NV statutes, whereupon a social problem inmate is potentially a felon. A plea is No Bargain, dag-nabbit U silly wabbit
