RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The woman who was severely injured and hospitalized after a random act of violence over the weekend has died, according to Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Desiree Bragg, 19, was crushed between a van and a home Saturday night. The man driving the van is in jail and law enforcement officials say the crime appears to be totally random. Leonardo Cardoza, 27, is in jail booked on suspicion of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries, and DUI. He is expected to face murder charges.

Furlong says the full results of the autopsy report are not expected for about four weeks.

There is an account set up at Greater Nevada Credit Union for donations to her family. Bragg leaves behind a five-month-old son.

The account number is 926595. The routing number is 321280143.

According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Cardoza was tailgating the woman and her fiance Saturday night. He then followed them to a home off of College Parkway where he ran into the woman, pinning her between his van and the house.

According to Sheriff Ken Furlong, Cardoza has no prior history with the Sheriff's Office. Furlong says at this time there is no motive.

EXECUTE the perp. There is no rehabilitation for anyone so far gone that he attacks a young woman in her driveway.
