VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - News 4's Fact Finder Team uncovered brand new information about the former Storey County commissioner arrested Friday on assault charges. He is admitting to law enforcement he grabbed an 18-year-old by the throat so hard he expected to leave a mark.
According to court documents obtained by News 4, Bum Hess told law enforcement after the basketball game at the high school, the alleged victim Kody Burell bumped him and said, "f*** you". Hess stated he then turned around and Burell said, "let’s go." Hess claims he grabbed Burrell by the throat so the 18-year-old would not hit him. The arresting officer also points out Hess asked if the recent high school graduate had any marks on his face or head, Hess stated, "there should be."
The Storey County Commission has moved to hand this case over to the Nevada Attorney General's office for prosecution because of conflicts of interest at the local offices.
