SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect or suspects who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl walking on her way to a Sparks elementary school last week.

Sparks police say the girl was headed down Greenbrae Drive to Greenbrae Elementary about 8:45 a.m. Friday when a man approached in a car, opened his door and tried to grab her.

The girl escaped. She says he was driving a mid-sized sedan with a gold snake or dragon hood ornament and a dent in the right rear quarter panel with alternating, horizontal stripes of black and green.

Anyone with information is asked to Call Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
