RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Several different agencies, organizations and programs will be discussing the safety of pedestrian and bicycle safety on Nevada roads at the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa through Wednesday.

"This annual conference is truly the state's foremost event for bike and walking enthusiasts, advocates, engineers, administrators, educators and consultants," said Bill Story, the Nevada Department of Transportation Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Manager.

The main focus of this year's summit is safety.

Story says the number of bicyclists and pedestrians on Nevada roads only continue to increase. He says it is important for everyone to understand safety, including drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.

The conference will continue from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
