Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Reno police report that a 19-year-old is recovering after what appears to be a gang-related shooting.

Reno Police say they were called to The Silver Terrace Apartments at 1600 Wedekind Road just after 1:30 a.m., after reports that one victim had been shot. When police arrived, they found a 19-year-old male who had been shot in the torso. He was taken to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

The victim's name has not been released.

Police say the shooting may possibly be gang related, but that investigation is still ongoing.

News 4 talked to neighbors this afternoon, and no one wanted to go on camera but they all say it's definitely gang-related.

One neighbor says there are at least two gangs active in the area and she's heard rumors that there is a third. She says she is moving as soon as her lease is up because the area isn't safe.

Another resident says he's seen trouble like this off and on for the last eight years.

They say the area is now covered in graffiti, and that since it appeared last night and they think it's connected to the shooting.

Back in July,17-year-old Ryan Connelly was shot and killed in the same area. Connelly's murder is still unsolved.

I am appalled that these little gang-bangers can't do their business in broad daylight - to me that spells scaredy-cats. If they were all hard-core like they claim to be, why not attempt to kill someone in they daylight hours? Do they not think that a little innocent child could have been killed by a stray bullet? If, I lived there I would definately be texting Secret Witness...:-) I hope someone steps forward and says something - let's think of the children who live at Silver Terrece Apts!! We need to fight back and not enable the scaredy-cat gang-bangers! BOOM!!
