WELLS, Nev. (KENV) -- Three suspects are in custody after authorities seized as many as 1,000 marijuana plants from an illegal farm north of Wells.

Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris said the grow was reported by a hunter earlier in the week. Local, state and federal agents conducted an early Wednesday raid on the remote operation on public lands located some 25 miles north of Wells off Highway 93.

Authorities have not yet identified the suspects in custody. They are searching for as many as three others who escaped as officers closed in.

love the way English vocabulary morphs "grow" into a noun. try "farm" or 'operation' or patch or some other less-derivative newspeak.
