WELLS, Nev. (AP) — Three people suffered minor injuries when a small airplane crashed in northeast Nevada on approach to landing at the Wells Municipal Airport.
The Elko County sheriff's office says a single-engine Cessna inbound from Wendover was trying to make an emergency landing about mid-morning Thursday.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports that when the plane hit the ground, its landing gear folded up — causing the plane to tumble and flip upside down about one-quarter mile east of the runway.
The pilot and both passengers on board were taken by ambulance to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital for treatment of unspecified, minor injuries.
No names have been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
