This is a little off of the blanket/sickness/medication topic, but did you realize that the chicken served to inmates in the Dept of Corrections (literally) says, "Not Fit for Human Consumption"? As for the blankets, one of us should try sleeping with one sheet over a 1" mat that sits on a metal rack, one stupidly thin blanket and a flat pillow which all have survived the standard bio hazards (puke, death, blood, waste) and disease, virus, bacteria, bugs, boogers, and TB.. Just to name a few. Meds? Really? By the time you get a "kite" (written request form) to see a doctor into a case manager (M-F mornings only) and they approve you to see the doctor... the issue has either gone away, you've found an alternative etc and when you DO get in to see a doctor.. your not getting pain meds. Thats for sure. Not nbuprofen, Not any narcotics like Percocet/vicodin. have you ever had Kennel Cough? Its what dogs get at the pound. In prisons its because the ventilation is just air circulating into one cell carrying all of these pathogens and bacteria into the next. Just because they are criminals varying from Domestics to DUI to substance abuse and murder, doesn't mean that they aren't human. And my opionion, based on personal experience doesn't mean that I feel sorry for all of them either...

Inmates in PRISON get issued a blanket and they get pain medication if needed, when ordered by a Dr. I doubt that these convicted felons died from the cold or lack of pain medication. Most likely they died from something they came into prison with...it just caught up with them.

At Carson jail, i was not allowed a pain reliever, though I had eighteen bruises from a family member, and I could have died from a concussion. Also, not enough blankets to stave off pneumonia.
