RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Mountain West announced its 2012-13 Scholar-Athlete Award recipients today, with 51 University of Nevada student-athletes earning accolades.
The Wolf Pack swimming and diving team led the way with 11 athletes selected, followed closely by the Rifle squad with eight honorees.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
