RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - About 10, 000 people were left in the dark Monday Morning, December 17, 2012 after police say one car crashed into a power transformer near Hug High School.
The power outage effected residents east of Sutro Street between McCarran and East 4th Street.
Police say the crash happened around 12:30 in the morning.
The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries; No word as to what extent are the injuries.
Police say they are still investigating how the crash happened and whether or not alcohol was a factor.
As of 7:30 A.M. An NV Energy Employee tells News 4 about 71 people are still without power this morning and there is no word when power will be restored.
